FashionGo Vendor Admin
-
Intro
FashionGo is an online B2B marketplace for wholesale fashion. Vendor Admin is an administrative tool that vendors use to upload and market their products, process orders, communicate with customers, and monitor their statistics. The reason for the redesign was to create a more efficient, user-friendly product.

Comparative/Competitive Analysis
We analyzed various ecommerce sites to evaluate their methods and inform our design. We looked at visual design and functional components and concluded that we needed to completely redesign the UI and create a design system that would be more cohesive and straightforward.
-
User Interviews
After conducting the comparative/competitive analyses, we interviewed various vendors to see what their issues were with the website. We found that the UI made it difficult for vendors to complete simple tasks. Moreover, vendors wanted a faster way to upload their products. From these interviews, it seemed evident that vendors wanted an administrative tool that would not take away too much time from other daily tasks.

Low Fidelity Wireframes
Using Adobe XD, we created low fidelity wireframes to begin conversations with various stakeholders. We went over layouts and presented our findings from research to support reasons for changing certain pages. There were initial disagreements with some stakeholders stating that the changes were too drastic. However, after explaining the reasoning behind certain design choices, we eventually compromised on most decisions. During this stage, we also reorganized the information architecture to simplify navigation.
-
High Fidelity Wireframing and Prototyping
After confirming our wireframes, we moved on to create high fidelity wireframes and prototypes. Because we were completely redesigning the UI, we created a new style guide to utilize for the current project and all related future projects. The UI of the old Vendor Admin was very crowded, had a lot of repetitive information, and lacked a visual hierarchy. Using these issues as our main focus, we created a simpler, cleaner layout.
-
Functional Spec Document
We created a functional spec document to explain new functionality to the development team. This document included detailed descriptions for each page and a full template for the new UI.
-
QA Testing
We tested and reported issues for about four weeks before launching the product for our users.
